hey james,
i've followed your blog for quite some time now because i enjoy your entrepreurial endeavors, and am interested in starting some of my own.

Recently, i've been questioning my own abilities, and really asking "do i have what it takes?" to be a success in the entreprenuerial world.

The reason for much of this doubt is that i've noticed that successful entrepreneur's like yourself, are well educated people that have prestigious degrees and what not. For me, i'm current university student at a respectable school in Canada, but I'm in not that great in school. And what i'm studying is not really all about technology or business (it's kineiseology)

But does the technical knowledge learned in school really give an advantage to successful entrepreneur's?
Is an idea all it takes be a success?
Should i be switching majors in school?

I do know there are really successful entrepreneurs that are college drop-outs (i.e. steve jobs), but what i really believe is that these people are geniuses and found school to be just a drag that slowed them down.

Please shed some light on this subject.
thanks
-wilson

James - sorry for using your comments board as a forum.

Wilson - Why don't you just try it and see? I mean, try running with one of your ideas. There's probably a lot that you could learn from going to certain classes and working with certain professors/students, but there's also a lot that can probably only be learned trying it out yourself. Start a business next week and see what happens.

Good luck bud.
